Exhilarating UniverSoul Circus Returns on May 17

Celebrating 30 years of tradition, the UniverSoul Circus is set to perform at Atlantic Station starting May 17, following a series of shows in Birmingham, Alabama, beginning on May 3.

The circus has captivated audiences across 30 countries, including South Korea, receiving widespread acclaim.

Since its inception in Atlanta in 1994, UniverSoul Circus has delivered mesmerizing and emotionally charged entertainment to spectators in over 50 U.S. cities and numerous countries worldwide. After previous performances in Gwinnett County and the former Turner Field in Atlanta, the circus returns to the city.

The circus will take the stage at Legion Field in Birmingham from May 3, moving to Atlantic Station in Atlanta from May 17 to June 2 for a three-week run.

Founded in Atlanta by producer Cedric Walker, UniverSoul Circus brings together entertainers from Asia, Latin America, and Africa, offering a family-friendly performance that has continued to delight audiences globally. Highlights of the show include high-wire acts by artists from Central Africa and Colombia, a Caribbean Diaspora Carnival woven together by Caribbean artists, and ‘Russian swing’ aerial acrobatics by performers from Belarus and West Africa.

The performances emphasize diversity and a family-oriented atmosphere, providing a comfortable and enriching experience for Asian audiences, including Koreans. Special features like beach balls bouncing over the audience’s heads, spotlighting audience members, and a dedicated ‘Kid’s Dance’ time create memorable moments.

This year, the circus has introduced new acts, including an intricate ‘Flying Trapeze Act’ with 18 performers, a ‘Double Vision’ act from the Dominican Republic, a new ballerina act performed atop the shoulders of dancers, and dynamic Cuban/Caribbean-themed roller skating performances.

With an expanded purple and yellow tent, new seating, and state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, the performers representing five continents and numerous countries aim to deliver high-caliber shows selected from around the world.
