둘루스 한인타운서 입소문…“마사지 받으러 갔다가 모임까지”
미국 생활에서 가장 쉽게 무너지는 것 가운데 하나가 몸의 균형이다.
장시간 운전과 컴퓨터 업무, 육체 노동, 스트레스가 반복되면서 목과 어깨, 허리 통증을 호소하는 한인들이 적지 않다. 특히 둘루스 한인타운은 자영업과 서비스업 종사자가 많아 만성 피로를 안고 사는 경우가 흔하다.
이런 가운데 둘루스 새털라이트 불러바드에 자리잡은 글로리 마사지(Glory Massage)가 한인 고객들 사이에서 입소문을 타고 있다. 오픈한 지 약 2년이 된 비교적 새로운 업소지만 안심할 수 있는 서비스와 쾌적한 시설로 단골 고객층을 확보하고 있다.
이 업소의 특징은 단순히 “마사지샵” 분위기에 머물지 않는다는 점이다. 내부 공간이 넓고 밝으며 답답함이 적다. 지나치게 어둡거나 폐쇄적인 분위기 대신 편안하고 안정적인 느낌을 강조한 구조다.
특히 여성 고객들이 친구들끼리 함께 방문하거나 소규모 모임 형태로 이용하는 경우가 늘고 있다는 것이 업소 측 설명이다. 생일이나 브라이덜 샤워, 여성들끼리의 휴식 모임처럼 ‘마사지 파티’ 개념으로 찾는 고객들도 적지 않다.
마사지사들은 대부분 10년 이상의 경력을 갖춘 여성 마사지사들로 구성돼 있다. 고객 상태에 따라 강약을 조절하며 단순한 피로 회복뿐 아니라 근육 긴장 완화와 릴랙스 중심의 케어를 제공하고 있다고 업소 측은 밝혔다.
글로리 마사지는 스웨디시, 딥티슈, 핫스톤, 림프 마사지, 스포츠 마사지, 임산부 마사지 등 다양한 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.
둘루스 일대에는 대형 스파나 사우나 시설들도 많지만, 이 곳은 비교적 조용하고 프라이빗한 분위기를 선호하는 고객층에게 맞춰져 있다는 평가도 나온다.
업소 측은 “몸이 피곤할 때 잠깐 들르는 공간이 아니라 편하게 쉬고 대화하면서 재충전할 수 있는 공간을 만들고 싶었다”고 말했다.

Glory Massage, located on Duluth Highway, has been gaining attention among Korean customers looking for a safe, clean and comfortable massage experience. Although the business has been open for about two years, it has built a growing base of regular customers through its calm environment and reliable service.
