[속보] 조지아주, 코로나19 태스크포스 구성

켐프 주지사, 의학-교육-행정 등 전문가 18명 임명

아직 확진자는 없어…예방, 진료, 피해대처 등 다뤄

브라이언 켐프 조지아 주지사는 28일 신종 코로나 바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 확산에 대비하기 위한 주정부의 태스크포스를 구성했다고 발표했다.

켐프 주지사는 “조지아주엔 아직 확진자가 발생하지 않았지만 향후 나타날 수 있는 유행 사태에 대비해야 한다”면서 “태스크 포스는 코로나19의 예방과 대응, 피해 최소화 등 관련 주제들을 책임지고 다루게 된다”고 밝혔다.

켐프 주지사는 이어 “트럼프 대통령과 연방 코로나19 책임자인 마이크 펜스 부통령도 주정부와 로컬정부가 코로나19 대응의 최전선에 서있다는 사실을 잘 이해하고 있다”면서 “관련 기관과 긴밀히 협력해 조지아 주민들의 피해를 최소화하겠다”고 밝혔다.
